# Bitcoin Friesland

> Bitcoin Friesland (Frysk: Bitcoin Fryslân) is a volunteer community for Bitcoin education, adoption and meetups in the Dutch province of Friesland. Participation in the community and its Telegram and Signal groups is free. The site is informational and does not provide financial advice.

The site is available in Dutch (`nl`), English (`en`) and Frisian (`fy`). Dutch is the default language.

The linked HTML pages are the primary source; Markdown counterparts are summaries. For changing event details and business payment options, check the organizer or business linked from the relevant page. Community contributors maintain this website; corrections can be sent to info@bitcoinfriesland.com with the page URL and a supporting source. A listing is not an endorsement.

The map pages include a searchable business list by name, town or type. All listings remain readable without JavaScript; search only filters the existing list and does not verify a business's current payment options.

Important facts:

- Supporter programme: in preparation. Payments and organisation are not in place yet, so nothing can be paid or ordered. The support page has a waitlist and feedback form; people on the waitlist hear first when it starts. No start date has been announced.
- Planned supporter contribution: the current value of EUR 21 a year, paid in sats. Planned benefits: 21 Bitcoin Friesland stickers, event discount codes and a supporter tag in Telegram and Signal.
- Donations in sats are possible now, separate from the supporter programme: zap Bitcoin Friesland on Nostr or pay the Lightning address bitcoinFriesland@coinos.io. A donation gives no promotion or mention.
- Financial or material support never buys influence, exclusivity, editorial control or an endorsement.
- Bitcoin map, October 2026: 43 places in 20 Frisian towns accept Bitcoin or Lightning, 14 of them in Sneek. Listing on the map will become paid in the future; no date or price has been announced.
- Bitcoin Friesland was started by two Noderunners (https://noderunners.network/).
